I agree it's a little late to protest now. What everyone needs to start doing is becoming proactive instead of reactive.

As an article I read recently said "GO FUCKING VOTE IN THE NEXT ELECTION, FOR FUCKS SAKE"

I feel the time for action was when Trump and Clinton became the two runners for the major parties

Agreed, though voting in the next election might be too late for things that are happening now.

Regardless of your politics, some of Trump's cabinet appointees are abysmal:
Bannon - quoted as wanting to tear down the government, enabler of alt-right hate rhetoric if not saying anything directly himself
Sessions - rejected as a federal judge nominee by a GOP congress over concerns that he's a racist
Flynn - he and his son have received money from RT, the Russian government-run media agency

And if your only Trump news this weekend was about tweets re: Pence @ Hamilton:
* The Trump U. fraud case was settled with Trump paying $25 million
* Trump has had numerous unsecured, unprepped phone calls with foreign leaders
* The Trump Hotel in DC hosted ~100 foreign diplomats, and Trump refuses to put his business in a blind trust
Washington Post wrote:
In interviews with a dozen diplomats, many of whom declined to be named because they were not authorized to speak about anything related to the next U.S. president, some said spending money at Trump’s hotel is an easy, friendly gesture to the new president.

* Trump met with Indian business leaders this weekend about building new Trump apartment complexes in India.
* His daughter (who will be managing his businesses) sat in on a meeting with the Japanese PM

I mean, sure, but that doesn't mean that now is suddenly not the time for action anymore. It's like a political version of that old adage about saving money. The best time to start protesting and speaking out is 6 months ago. The second best time is today.

To encourage the more sane politicians to not support trump's insane policies. Going with the party is easy, but going against an angry American people? That's harder to justify.

Why does the media feel the need to call them "Alt Right" over what they actually are?

The same reason they spent so much time covering Clinton's e-mails instead of, oh, I don't know, the fraud case Trump settled for $25 million, or his numerous business relationships in foreign countries and tied to foreign governments.

1. People who are sympathetic to "alt right" views will go elsewhere.
2. People who aren't sympathetic stay because it pisses them off and thus engaging.

Media has been selling out objective journalism for page views long before Trump showed up.

I love all these people who claim that Russia is "hacking" our election. Putin meanwhile is basically like "Leave it to America to blame their crappy election on Russia... somehow."

I mean, two independent studies found evidence of a campaign of false news intended to encourage mistrust in the US government and traced it back to Russia, which is not surprising considering that's the exact same tactic (through different methods, of course) they tried in the cold war. I mean, it's not like Russia was stuffing ballot boxes, and it's impossible to know how much their efforts actually affected things, if at all, but there was a concerted effort to create and distribute anti-government (and especially anti-Clinton) propaganda.

I'm aware. But does Russia really need FAKE news to instill distrust of the government in America?

i don't think that's their end goal, their end goal is to end the american hegemony and/or reestablish a new soviet union

problem is that the logical hegemonic replacement is china (india isn't developed enough to compete), and i can't remember if russia is pro-china

When your prime minister (still sounds weird, but she is unelected), states her faith in God will guide us through brexit.

What kind of hegemony? Ending American military hegemony would probably require the US to adopt a policy of non-interference in international affairs, which seems unlikely. Ending American cultural hegemony seems basically impossible at this point. Ending American political hegemony is probably possible, though it would take a lot of time to erode the huge influence we have in the UN.

Our dictator would like to ban all unconventional porn (not a fucking clue), and is putting 150 troops into Poland to defend them from Russian threat.
