RNA spoiler season is ongoing; so let's discuss the new (and probably also some old) guild mechanics for the set:

Rakdos = Spectacle

Meh. I'm really get tired of these "do something extra if a creature/opponent was killed/damaged this turn" mechaincs. What I would really love to see is a mechanic that gives a normally sorcery-speed card flash if a creature/opponent was killed/damaged this turn.

Orzhov = Afterlife

I like it as a mechanic, but I feel like it does a bad job representing Orzhov's basic theme. Extort did a much better job of that, I think.

Simic = Adapt

I like how we're continuing GRN's theme of "basically a returning mechanic" with monstrosi-I MEAN ADAPT.

I would have been happier if WotC had reused monstrosity. Monstrosity is a better mechanic (it doesn't get screwed over by effects that put +1/+1 counters on creatures, which is what Simic's playstyle is all about).

Seriously, why would anyone create a new mechanic for Simic THAT GETS HOSED BY THE VERY THING THAT SIMIC IS ALL ABOUT!!!

Plus side: Adapt with +1/+1 counters as resources like Shapers of Nature.

I tgink all five mechanics are great. Riot will be very strong, Addendum makes interesting gameplay tension while being a Raid style teaching mechanic, I like aristocrat strategies, and Bloodspells is just what Rakdos should be doing.
